Board – governance structure

Organisational performance, sustainability challenges and financial milestones are regularly reported to the Board. Our Board consists of volunteers from predominantly business, education and community development sector.  Board resolutions are endorsed by a quorum of the board and all strategic matters are tabled for board input. A schedule of authority guides the scope of authority of the 3 independent signatories of the organisation.

Finance committee meetings are held on a frequent basis to deal with project income statements, budgets, investments and our property portfolio.

Financial Management

The financial operations of Uviwe Child & Youth Services take place within legislative frameworks regulating the NPO sector, as set out in: The Public Finance Management Act (PFMA); The Non Profit Organisations Act (NPO); and Income Tax and VAT Act - registration as a public benefit organisation. External auditors are appointed annually to do a thorough year end audit.
