WHAT IS THE SIKHUSELA PROGRAMME?
A COMMUNITY BASED RESPONSE TO CHILD PROTECTION (PRE-SCHOOL/TODDLERS) Child protection training for crèches/ECD
WHO CAN ATTEND?
The Sikhusela programme was developed to equip teachers, ECD principals, day care mothers, or any adult that works with children age 2-5 years with knowledge on child protection matters. The aim of the Sikhusela programme is to focus on how teachers can identify children that are at risk of abuse, neglect or malnutrition. The course will equip you with practical tools on how to deal with a child’s disclosure of abuse, where to refer to find appropriate help, how to involve the parents effectively and to teach children safety measures – at an early age.
Sikhusela training is not intended to provide learners with an accredited level ECD training to obtain a formal qualification. Sikhusela programme is a must-have “toolkit” of how to deal with various matters affecting our children and practical tools on keeping our children safe.
